The bonifide Comedy-fizz bomb’ Ayrshire born comic Billy Kirkwood burst into stand up in 2005. Casting himself on the new act scene in Scotland forming the “Don Quixote Comedy Troupe” with some fellow new acts for stage time after some seasoning Billy broke away and quickly establishing himself as one of the United Kingdom’s most watchable and versatile acts with a loveable on-stage presence that see’s an expanding ever cult following thanks to his hysterical inventive energetic stand up performances, unique ability to make anything funny, mixed with an unbridled mischievous streak that’s charms audiences the world over.
The Award winning comic performs to packed out clubs, venues, festivals and events all across the UK as an act and MC, making the funny for comedy fans of all ages winning Scottish Compere of the year 2014 at the inaugural Scottish Comedy Awards and has clocked up sell-out one-man shows at the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy, Brighton and Manchester international comedy festivals. As well as being resident MC of the Sidesplitters Comedy Club’s in Ayrshire he is also the host of Improv Wars on Monday nights at the Stand Comedy Club, he’s supported some massive names in comedy on tour including Rhod Gilbert & WWE’s Mick Foley and William Regal, Daniel Sloss, Police Academy’s Michael Winslow and Comedy Superstars Tim Minchin, Jim Jefferies and Frankie Boyle.
As well as Comedy for adults Billy adapats his arnaic style and performs for stand up for kids, as one of the regular hosts at The Stands Kids Comedy Club, as well as having starred on Children’s BBC including School of Silence, Steakout, Hedz. Incredible edibles, Cinderalla – BBC Scotland & has two kids books due out in 2016 “Jungle Library” & “The Big Book of Villains” Billy has also hosted a selection of huge events including The Scottish Secret Policeman’s Ball (8 years running – and winner of the Scottish Student Event of the Year 7 times), The Scottish Alternative Music Award and was handpicked to host the Stan Lee Awards at the at Ka-Pow Comic Con in London.
Billy has performed and shown support for many charities to raise much needed cash for some wonderful causes including Red Cross, Cancer research, Amnesty International, WWF, Marie Curie, Help for Heroes and many more. Also helping develop & work with many local talents as part making school, college’s & arts Centre visits and calibrations teaching workshops in Public Speaking and comedy performance.
Away from Comedy but very much using his comedic skills Billy has become know worldwide as “The Voice of ICW” as the live show/TV host for Scotland’s Insane Championship Wrestling touring all round the UK, a and recently seen in the worldwide phenomenon documentary “Insane Fight club” and weekely on ICW Fightclub and monthly PPVs.

Billy has also had success touring with solo shows all around the world including has also “Billy Kirkwood: Show me your Tattoo” (One man show about Tattoos) which was a sell out smash at the Edinburgh Festival & Glasgow Comedy festivals five years and was invited to perform in Ireland, America, Canada and in 2014 become the first every British comedian to perform at the Lake of Stars festival in Malawi Tattoo and is currently in development as a television series. As well as this he tours with his regular stand up show “Billy Kirkwood: Just Being Funny”, “Billy Kirkwood’s –ComedyMania!” – A new Comedy show about the love of wrestling and as co-creator of Watch Bad Movies with Great Comedians with fellow film nut Joe Heenan & “Have I got Chairshots for you”
