Carina MacLeod is originally from the Isle Of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides & has worked professionally the Gaelic Media for the last 22 years. Her credits include voicing over Peppa Pig in Gaelic. She trained as actor at Mountview Theatre School in London.
Carina is currently Scotland’s only bilingual stand up comedian, performing in English throughout the Scottish Comedy Circuit as well as performing in Gaelic at such events as the Scottish Gaelic Awards & also The Royal National Mod. She has also supported Fred MacAulay on a Hebridean. She has also performed at Stand Up NY in New York and in Berlin at Cosmic Comedy Showcase Night.
Her latest sell out solo show Fibro My Arth! which debuted at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, is a funny look what it is like to live with the painfully chronic illness Fibromyalgia. Carina was diagnosed with the illness in 2017.It has been such a success that she has taken the show to sell out crowds in the Highlands and Islands and has also been asked to perform the show in England. Her 1st show is in Liverpool. Fibro My Arth! is in such demand that she will be returning to Glasgow in September to perform it at Webster’s Theatre.
