Jokes and Feelings (WIP)
Darkly Charming Scottish comic’s debut hour promises to delight.
Award nominated up-and-comer Martin Bearne presents his debut hour at The Scottish Comedy Festival. Exciting Scottish talent Bearne seamlessly blends his anti-comedy with more traditional jokes to create a joyful show that explores the ins and outs of comedy itself, and offers a hilarious and unique perspective on how jokes work. Bearne talks family, romance and sheds in a show that looks at the job of a comedian and asks; what happens when the joke goes wrong? A ramshackle but fantastically funny act, Bearne’s refreshing mix of outlandish anti-comedy and conventional jokes creates a show that prods and pokes at all of comedy’s darkest corners with endearing panache.
A stalwart of the Scottish Scene, Bearne is a two-time Scottish Comedian Of The Year finalist and presenter of Industry podcast The Bearne’s Unit which has hosted such Scottish comedy greats as Tom Stade, Mark Nelson and Daniel Sloss.
