Glaswegian comic Stephen has performed at many of Scotland’s top comedy clubs including The Stand Comedy Club, Yesbar Comedy Club, Stand Out Comedy, Tennents Comedy Basement and Side Splitters Comedy Club.
Graduating with a degree in Physics from Strathclyde University (and he is quick to point out that he is not a geek!), Stephen now teaches science in a secondary school. He took up stand-up comedy after doing a best man’s speech. “I had an absolute ball doing the speech and loads of folk in the audience told me I should take up stand-up comedy ……… so I did”. Stephen is a story telling comic and boasts that “all of my stories are genuinely real (no, honestly!) so the audience can relate to them (I hope!!)”.
As well as entertaining ‘the big kids’, Stephen is a headline act on the ever-growing kid’s comedy circuit. He regularly hosts shows with Comedyclub4kids and The Stand Comedy Club’s kids show. During the Glasgow Comedy Festival, he runs two ‘science-based’ kids shows on board The Tall Ship in Glasgow (a truly amazing venue). Stephen has also run comedy workshops for kids searching for the next big stars of the future. “Doing kids comedy is cracking fun – you have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen when you get on that stage”.
Stephen is delighted to be performing for the first time at the Crieff Comedy Festival.
